Frequently Asked Questions

At the start of our work together, we will likely spend a bit of time getting to know each other to establish what our goals are, what treatment modality we will use to get there, and a strong relationship built on communication and trust. From there, the structure of our sessions may vary quite a bit depending on your goals and our treatment approach.
For clients seeking Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or skills for managing anxiety and other difficult emotions, I may be active in providing tools and strategies tailored to your current needs and allow us time and space to practice them together.
For clients seeking Exposure & Ritual Prevention (ERP) for OCD, we will work together to begin gradually approaching things that bring on anxiety while avoiding or reducing your compulsions or rituals.
For clients seeking Psychodynamic or supportive therapy, I may follow your lead as we reflect on and explore thoughts and feelings related to important, meaningful, or difficult experiences from the present or the past.
Regardless of our treatment approach, I strive to create a warm, accepting space where clients are heard and understood. I believe our ability to work well together is our most powerful tool. Accordingly, I will frequently check in with you about how you feel our work is progressing and whether it is meeting your needs. I aim to be flexible and responsive to meet you where you’re at.
I encourage you to contact me to schedule a free initial consultation to determine whether we’d be a good fit for working together!

The length of time that treatment will take depends on a number of things including the nature of your concerns, your goals, and your commitment to working towards them in treatment. At the start of treatment, I will aim to provide you with a rough estimate of how long treatment might take based on these factors. For some seeking more skills-focused approaches, this may be as little as 3-6 months. For others seeking longer-term support or recovery, this may involve ongoing treatment for longer periods of time.
I believe that therapy works best when our goals are clear and we both feel strongly that our treatment is effective. I always invite clients to tell me how they feel treatment is going and whether it is still meeting their needs.
Ending therapy is a normal part of the treatment process, and I am committed to ensuring that ending treatment occurs thoughtfully and collaboratively when is becomes appropriate.

Most clients meet with me once per week, as weekly sessions tend to provide a consistent rhythm for building momentum and making meaningful progress. That said, our meeting frequency can be flexible and may vary depending on your goals, needs, and the type of therapy we are doing together. For example, some clients may benefit from meeting more frequently at the start of treatment, while others may reduce session frequency as they begin feeling more confident and steady in their skills. We will discuss what feels right for you and adjust as needed throughout our work together.

A standard therapy session lasts approximately 53–60 minutes. This is typically enough time to explore current concerns, build insight, and engage in meaningful therapeutic work without feeling rushed. In some circumstances, we may determine that a shorter or longer session is appropriate based on your needs or the structure of treatment. We will discuss what makes the most sense for you as we move forward.

My private-pay fee for individual therapy is $200 for a 53-60-minute session. I also accept the insurances listed below.
Fees are payable at the time of each session via credit or debit card.

I currently accept Aetna, Optum, and United Healthcare. I do not accept Medicare or Medicaid-managed plans. I am also able to provide documentation for out-of-network insurance reimbursements for other health care plans.
Please note that insurance companies define benefits in countless ways — based on location, employer contracts, and many other factors. Therefore, I cannot guarantee which individual health plans will be considered in-network until I have specific insurance policy information. At the start of treatment, I will run your insurance details to confirm your in-network eligibility, expected payment responsibility, and mental health benefits.

There are no charges for sessions cancelled at least 24 hours before their scheduled time.
However, clients are responsible for paying the full fee for any session cancelled less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
If you would like to reschedule and I have availability later that week, there will be no fees for the cancellation.
